Game is very effective: creating sprites to fight for you and defend you. The art and animations are simple and charming, and the music is fitting. I love the upgrade system a lot, but having to constantly left click and move just got on my wick after a while.

All the best in this jam!

Thank You!!

Thanks for the feedback, we plan to continue working on the game

Some notes that I have done during my gameplay:
-Max mana upgrade was not working

-Manually collecting shadow fragments was not particularly fun
-It was annoying to finish a level and getting almost none shadow fragments because I forgot to collect them at the end
-The number of shadow fragments could be more highlighted
-Shadow fragments can be hidden behind the cards that can be selected
-The cards that are being combined have little highlighting under the witch, a better place could be the top of the screen, since there is nothing relevant to the gameplay there at the moment

-Playing well should be rewarded and playing badly should not (since shadow fragments are granted when killing enemies and performing well means being less time in the level and therefor killing less enemies)

-I think that discovering and using new / more complex combinations should be more incentivized
-The best moment for the player to discover and test new / more complex combinations is when they are already winning with their strategy, and so disincentivizing change in their strategy

-The players are more willing to try out new combinations if they grant them bigger rewards or if they are necessary at some point

-Simple yet charming art style
-Liked the use of particles
-Liked that the witch was a goblin, yet she was still cute

-Didn't feel like had much agency in the game, a rock paper scissors dynamic could solve this and make the combat more strategic / engaging (Clash Royale is a good example of this dynamic)

Overall it was a fun game, hope the review helps :)

Thank You!!

I love the art, and the gameplay is really dynamic, makes you want to keep playing. I have a few comments on the following aspects:
- The difficulty spikes a lot in the third wave, I haven't been able to get past it (probably because the health upgrade isn't working, but not sure if I would be able to with it as well).

- Not enough feedback on mixing ingredients. In my head, it would be cool to mix different things and see what sorts of spells I can create, but for what I can tell so far, mixing different ingredients doesn't work and the only feedback is a small shake and sound effect from the witch, which took me a while to notice since I'm more focused on the cards and enemies coming. Also, making mixing ingredients possible would allow a more varied deck while maintaining balance.

- I love that the shop shows everything you'll be able to buy in the future while you still have little money, but it would be great to have a more noticeable visual difference between what you can and can't currently buy, such as grayed out not-affordable items vs colorful affordable ones.

- I have to hover over drops to pick them up, and often I forget since the waves are so fast paced, and the drops left behind are not automatically picked up by the end of the wave, which leaves me with a feeling of being incapable of handling everything and kind of overwhelmed, like I managed to get through the wave but couldn't get my reward from it even though the next one will for sure be harder. Maybe drops could be picked up automatically at the end of the wave but be worth less if they're aquired that way? As to keep rewarding who's able to manage everything during gameplay but also the slower ones like myself, and rewarding the higher skilled more.

- I'd like to be able to use more my keyboard. Maybe the number keys to choose cards and with space to brew.

Would like to see more from the game in the future!

Thank you so much for this detailed feedback, it means a lot to us!

We'll be adding more ingredient combinations to mix and visual feedbacks to make sinergies more intuitives. We currently have 5 mixing combinations available (Ice Golem, Fireball, Rain, Meteor Rain and Thunderstorm), and we agree that almost every mixing should be a valid recipe (just like it is in Magicka).

Awesome suggestions regarding the shop, drops and keyboard inputs! We'll definitely take all this into account for our next updates.

Nice little game! normally I would never touch a card game, glad I ignored my impulse to skip this. I would love to see more animation added later if you plan on continuing development after the jam. all in all, the game is fun, and the art is beautiful. keep it up and good luck.

Thank you very much!!

Yes, we will continue working on the game in the future to add more animations, characters and different card combinations.
